Around the village, a multitude of walks and short hikes allow you to discover Cauterets in a different way. Between forests, waterfalls and panoramic views of the peaks, each trail reveals a new face of the valley. Whether you’ve got an hour or an afternoon ahead of you, these accessible itineraries promise a wonderful nature break just a stone’s throw from the centre.

Discover the emerald-green waters of Lac de Gaube, where the Vignemale, the highest peak in the French Pyrenees, is reflected.

The lake is easily accessible: by chairlift, followed by a 15-minute walk, or on foot from the Pont d’Espagne via the GR10, in around 1 hour 15 minutes. The path starts just before the famous Pont d’Espagne waterfall.

Siesta with the bees

The return of spring means the return of the bees. The Pavillon des Abeilles in Cauterets is the temple of bee wellbeing. On site, you can discover the products of the hive: honey as well as cosmetics, but also take some time for yourself and recharge your batteries with a nap with the bees. In a room above the hives, you can relax for 50 minutes and enjoy the natural benefits of bees.
