No need to put on skis to enjoy the Cirque du Lys! In winter, pedestrians can easily access the site by taking the Lys cable car up the mountain. The gondola links the village of Cauterets at an altitude of 1,800 metres. Once up there, the panorama opens out onto the snow-capped peaks and ski slopes – an imposing backdrop to be admired from the panoramic terrace.
Take the Le Lys gondola and enjoy the high mountain scenery effortlessly in just 15 minutes. From the terrace of Le Lys, you have a breathtaking view of Le Monné, the ski resort’s iconic peak.
The Cirque du Lys is aptly named: this vast natural amphitheatre reveals the entire ski area before your eyes, a unique spectacle of snow-capped peaks and winding pistes. Just a few steps from the terrace is the beginners’ area, ideal for watching the first runs or encouraging the youngest skiers from a sunny spot.
A perfect place to enjoy the mountains in a different way, with family or friends, whether you ski… or not.
There are a number of options for prolonging the pleasure:
- Le Lys Café, ideal for a gourmet break on the terrace overlooking the mountains.
- The 3600 restaurant, serving generous home-cooked meals in the warmth of the mountains.

Toboggan run
Non-skiers can also get a taste of the fun on the toboggan run, which is accessible to pedestrians. A covered conveyor belt makes it effortless to get back up the slope and keep the party going!
relaxation area
At the foot of the slope, the Yeti Croq, the Lys snack bar, awaits you with its deckchairs and breathtaking view – perfect for a relaxing moment with family or friends. For those who prefer to bring their own lunch, a heated picnic room is also available: a cosy spot to warm up between two runs.
