Cauterets
Free

Every year in Cauterets, residents, schoolchildren, associations and holidaymakers get together to take part in Operation Clean Mountain, a citizens’ day dedicated to collecting rubbish in the mountains.

Organised in partnership with Mountain Rider, N’Py and the CCPVG, this initiative aims to preserve our trails, forests and landscapes while raising awareness of environmental protection among young and old alike.

Clean mountain: A day of fun and useful activities

The principle is simple: get together in the morning for a coffee, get equipped (gloves, bags, waistcoats provided), then set off in small groups to collect rubbish on the paths, around the ski lifts or in natural areas.
Then, in the afternoon, there’s a convivial get-together to share a good time and find out the results of the day: several dozen kilos of waste collected every year!

As well as the collection itself, Montagne Propre is an opportunity to reflect on our impact on nature and encourage practices that are more respectful of the mountain environment.
Everyone can take part: local residents, visitors, accommodation providers, schoolchildren and simple mountain lovers.
