The Fruitière valley is just a few kilometres from the village of Cauterets.
It can be reached on foot from La Raillère via the Chemin des Pères, a pleasant route through the forest, or by car.
On arrival, the site reveals a wide, peaceful plateau, ideal for a nature break or a family picnic by the water.

La fruitière, The starting point for Lac d’Estom

From the plateau de la Fruitière, a path leads to Lac d’Estom, at an altitude of 1,804 m. The walk takes around 2 hours 30 minutes on a well-marked path with a gradual gradient.

The route crosses wide plateaux and runs alongside the Gave de Lutour, with fine views of the surrounding peaks.

Lac d’Estom offers a typical high mountain setting. The Estom hut offers refreshments and overnight accommodation for those wishing to extend their adventure.
