An exceptional architectural heritage
The golden age of thermalism in the XIXᵉ century left its mark on the village, with its thermal baths, Belle Époque hotels and elegant villas. Among the remarkable buildings, Cauterets’ wooden railway station, listed as a historic monument, bears witness to this prosperous era. With its unique architecture and charming heritage, it is a true symbol of the village’s history and its openness to mountain tourism.

THE BUS STATION
Built in 1898 by the Carde company, it has been listed as a historic monument since 1981.
The marquee on the passenger reception side houses a clock from the late 19th century.
L’ESPLANADE DES OEUFS
During the Belle Epoque, the whole of Paris came to the square to see this legendary venue where there was daily entertainment. They also attended the performances inside the Casino.
